Hello, I'm Jannike Rønning.

I am a full time artist from Norway born in 1978. Here I live in the forest whit the mountains around me. Painting have always been a part of me. For me it is like breathing and it is impossible to separate us. I have perfected my techniques for the last 20 years. I have studied details in nature​,​ Norce Mythology and viking art and I like to put this together as an abstract element to my art. I also make sculptures and statues. My art is requested showcased world wide. Nature is my inspiration. How the elements make it move and change. How the mountains change in the light of the sun. How the forest moves in the wind. How the snow falls down making a blanket of crystals. How the lakes freezes to ice and the water says goodbye with their magical sounds. How the flames dance and moves in the elements with it’s power showing us how dark darkness can be. How the raven moves with it`s beautiful sounds making a mysterious mood in the wind. This is my art. This is my inspiration. People always say to me that they think my paintings are alive. Colors and structure change a lot with the light so it will lock like a different painting from different part of the room without losing the whole of the painting. My specialty is to make the painting look alive and give it a multidimensional endless view. You will always see animals​,​ humans and creatures. Sometimes you will even see a magical world. The more you look at it the more you will see in it. Sometimes I mill soil​,​ stone and ash down to fine flour and use it in my paint for structure to represent the elements and energy from mother earth. I use my hands and finger tips as well as brushes to paint. This is how I conveys my energy in the paintings. I love to let the paint flow freely in my hands and into the canvas and let the hands and canvas decide where the paint should be. I primary use acrylic paint​,​ but sometimes I also use different forms of acrylic in my paintings. Usually I use paste to build up contrasts in the canvas and build the painting layer for layer. I also make oil paintings. Primary I paint on cotton and linen canvas. Creating big paintings is my favorite.
