I grew up in a family of art my mother is a notable artist and my father worked alongside with my mother. As a child, I went to many art shows and openings featuring my mother so at a young age – I learned to appreciate all types of art. Knowing how difficult an artist’s life can be, I studied and graduated from college with a business degree, and it wasn’t until after many years in the corporate world, I needed to release the creativity that was building up inside. Painting has been very freeing for me. From my first brush stroke and learning how to express myself. My paintings have developed into a style that I call Sculpted Paintings. What I consider sculpted paintings is a process of applying acrylic medium on the canvas using various tools. Once the texture has dried, the color is added. This is the Zen moment. The freeing experience of the movement of the paint brush on the canvas, layering colors of paint within the texture and watching what evolves. I have been told that these paintings are experienced not only by the eye, but they draw you in to be experienced by touch. My painting inspirations come from living in south Florida. The vibrant colors in the foliage, the ocean, sunrises and sunsets even the buildings. I try to apply those colors and feelings that I perceive to the texture on the canvas. I have several different styles of sculpted paintings that I create each is unique and different from the other. My paintings can be found in private and corporate collections around the US and you can find my work at juried exhibitions and solo exhibitions throughout Florida. I have been recognized as Top 60 Master of Contemporary Art, 2019 and 2020 and am featured in many publications in the US and internationally.
