I decide to use two canvases of the same size to work on one painting. I placed then together on the easel and did a quick sketch of what i had in mind. A fruit bowl over two canvas one half of the bowl in each. Then I started to work on them together to define my idea but quickly i split the two up and work them as seperate entities. But i often ended up working on one and later in the day, on the other and the memories of the morning's activities were still fresh. A couple of times in between, i put the panels together mostly to make sure the bowl was in the right place. And right size. Anyway I regret a bit not having pushed them more as seperate units and in the end they do look like they are a perfect fit. But it titillates me enough to play that game again and make new rules. The canvases are ready for the next play. Different width of canvases this time I hope this will be shown on the side of a London taxi come January.
