This intuitive painting is a celebration of joy. To create this very hopeful and free composition dominated by pink, the colour that I and many others associate with joy, I started by showering the canvas, (literally!) before applying any ink. I love to paint wet on wet, with the unpredictability and beautiful effects that can be achieved with this method. This was a lot of fun and very messy to create! I had a great time flinging paint, sponging the surface with rags, and so forth, always taking care to leave enough light. Joy and light so often come together. The upward movement signifies hope. There are many layers in my painting as there are many layers to any human emotion. When we are happy, we love to celebrate this feeling and share it with those around us. I hope this painting brings you joy! 25 % of the proceeds from the sale will go to an organization that has helped me a lot, Cancer Support Switzerland. This is part of my VAA (Visual Artists Association) Artist of the Year submission, which has made the Long List so far. Fingers crossed for the short list.
