This very colourful abstract ink painting is a reflection of my recently rather complicated and not always easy life. It was a challenge to complete this over many hours and painting sessions. It started intuitive then became a bit of an obsession with balance. It has a lot of contrast between colours and lights and darks. Life has its light and its dark moments. Mine has had some dark ones recently, yet there is still so much beauty and there is hope. I love to use colours that make one another sing, much like one of my art heroes, Vincent van Gogh. I use ink because of its wonderful, saturated hues. I like to use a wet on wet method to create atmosphere and for the beautiful, somewhat unpredictable results.
